Dataset Overview
The information to be contributed to FIRMS by CCAMLR will be taken from the Annual Reports of the meetings of the Commission and the Scientific Committee. The reports of the meetings of the Scientific Committee contain the latest advice to the Commission, including information on the biology, description of fisheries (including catches), state of stocks, outlook and management advice of fishery stocks in the CCAMLR Convention Area. CCAMLR may also provide other documents and information which are published by CCAMLR and available in the public domain, such as the CCAMLR Statistical Bulletin. The contributions by CCAMLR will not include the detailed datasets which underpin the work of the Scientific Committee and its Working Groups.
Collection Coverage
CCAMLR will contribute information on marine living resources and fisheries in the Southern Ocean which fall within CCAMLR's mandate and have been considered by the Commission and Scientific Committee. The fishery resources include toothfish (Dissostichus spp.), icefish (Champsocephalus gunnari), krill (Euphausia superba), crab (Paralomis spp.) and squid (Martialia hyadesi). The CCAMLR Convention Area consists of FAO Statistical Areas 48, 58 and 88.

Data Source
The main bibliographical source for the contributions to FIRMS is the Annual Reports of the Commission and Scientific Committee, published by CCAMLR and available on the CCAMLR website Link to resource.
Quality Assurance
The information to be contributed by CCAMLR will conform, where possible, with the Information Management Policy established by the FIRMS Steering Committee. The contributions by CCAMLR shall be managed using standards that do not alter the integrity of CCAMLR's Annual Reports and other publications.

Transparency and Peer-Review
Information on CCAMLR's data collection and management is available in the Annual Reports. Further information and links to detailed information may be found on the CCAMLR website.

Processing Method: The Scientific Committee and its Working Groups meet every year to review the fishery assessments using the best information available. The Scientific Committee usually meets in October, following the annual meetings of its Working Groups. The Scientific Committee reviews the fishery assessments and management recommendations and, in turn, provides advice to the Commission in the form of a report which the Scientific Committee adopts by consensus.

Validation Mechanism: The text of the report of the Scientific Committee is carefully drafted and agreed by scientific representatives from Member Countries. The processing and management of this information within FIRMS will be conducted in such a way that the integrity of these reports, and all other CCAMLR publications, will be fully maintained at all times.

Consistency and accuracy
The processing and management of this information within FIRMS will be conducted in such a way that the integrity of these reports, and all other CCAMLR publications, will be fully maintained at all times.

Information Security
All information provided by CCAMLR will be in the form of published reports and other documents which are in the public domain. Therefore, no confidentiality issues are foreseen with this information. This shall be accomplished by appropriate editorial and ownership security privileges within FIRMS. Methods used in authentication and verification of information for FIRMS will identify both a CCAMLR editor and a CCAMLR approver. The editor and approver will in sequence ensure that fact sheets owned by CCAMLR are updated and linked to the latest version of CCAMLR documents and information as they are released.

Timeliness
Conditional on the availability of resources at the CCAMLR Secretariat, information provided by CCAMLR will be updated within 12 months of the publication of the Annual Reports of the Commission and Scientific Committee.
