| more>> <<less Overview: Canoes with vessel sizes ranging between 8.5 - 12m, mostly propelled by paddles but outboard motors may be used. Surrounding nets are usually set from a boat to surround schools of fish sighted near the shore or to sweep an area of the seabed. This fishery exploits both adult and juvenile demersal fish but mainly juvenile fish. Some of their target species include burrito, red snapper, grey snapper, mullet and ribbon-fish. Fishing is daily and about 1,084 canoes operate in this fishery.
